I would like to congratulate you on the birth of your new baby/babies!!  You are about to embark on a wonderful journey of unconditional love.

The postpartum period usually lasts about 12 weeks and begins with the delivery of the baby.
This period involves the mother progressing through many changes, both emotionally and physically, while learning how to deal with all the changes and adjustments required with becoming a new mother. The postpartum period also involves the parents learning how to care for their newborn and learning how to function as a changed family unit. A mother needs to take good care of herself to rebuild her strength. You will need plenty of rest, good nutrition, and help during the first few weeks.

A new baby in the house is a living, breathing miracle.  It is also sleepless nights, and days that pass in a haze of exhaustion and worries for new Moms and Dads.

I will coach you on breastfeeding, baby's first bath, cries in the night, diaper duty and whatever it takes to help you adjust to the demands a brand new infant can make on a household.

In most cultures mothers have an extensive close knit family and/or community to help them through the first few months after baby has arrived.  Unfortunately, in our culture, many people live far away from their family, and have minimal outside help to assist them during this time.

This is where a Postpartum Doulas service can be invaluable.
